Day 181: Bedridden

I thought this was the most appropriate photo for today, the texture of my Moroccan blanket, since it's most of what I've seen today as I've tried to fight off my latest sinus infection.

And that wraps up month six. Halfway there already, yikes.

Day 179: Schwere Stunde

Invoking some Thomas Mann for good reason. Brain feels like its chain is off the gears.

Day 178: Light Beyond

I thought I would have most of my anniversary nostalgia in July, but it seems to be hitting early, perhaps because this Pride weekend made so plain to me how much in my life is changed, and how much I have changed as well.

The revolution continues, and there are more good things right around the corner, I can feel it.

Day 177: Our Empire

This was the gayest weekend New York has ever seen. It was incredible.

Bonus photo: here I am in the Pride march, with my beloved swim team:

Day 176: Hello, Goodbye

I will have to get used to people leaving - as often as new faces arrive in New York, other ones that are very dear will leave. Janelle, rocking some sexy new Robyn hair, is off to Atlanta.

On the topic though, I will pay serious money for a recording of her singing "The One" in A Wonderland.

Day 175: Equality

Best possible kickoff to Pride weekend: marriage equality in New York State.

Day 174: Brothers

Out for food and drinks with both my brothers. Our whole generation of the clan will shortly be living here in New York.

Day 173: Courtyard

One of the (somewhat short now) list of shots I know I can get around the house on days I fail to get anything else.

Day 171: Passing Tones

I found this in my music pile today, it's the end of a chorale I wrote in my high school theory class – 15 years ago. Add this to the list of things I used to have some ability in and only barely can recall.

Day 170: Sometimes, Simpler

Sorry, big departure from the week of fun abstraction. Head really hasn't been in the pictures this weekend.

Tonight I really appreciate old friends. Folks I don't see very often or talk to nearly enough but still know exactly what's up.

Day 168: Atomized

This is the "My Mind as Venn Diagrams" after my mind has been put into a blender. Which kind of sums up how it feels after crisscrossing the country, and everything else that happened today.

Day 167: Grumble

I feel like I made this face a lot, in almost every private moment of the last three days. This was not one of my better travel experiences.

Day 166: Refreshment

A fountain I passed by on the run from SF to the airport to LA.

Day 164: Looking West

Heading off an another adventure tomorrow, JFK-SFO-LAX-JFK, home very late Thursday night, just in time for the weekend.

This will be my first time in Los Angeles! I'm scared.

Day 163: Stoop Pigeon

This fellow has been camped out on my doorstep all day. I can't tell if it's hurt, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with his wings. Guess he just likes it here.

Day 162: Shame

I feel horrible not just for posting this photo, but for taking it in the first place.

Others disagreed, since this is a common sight down in the East Village.

Day 161: Cracks Me Up

A photo I've wanted to take since my first day in this neighborhood 11 months ago.

Day 160: My Mind, as Venn Diagrams

Good luck figuring out what this one is.

I feel completely broken and beat down. Next week's going to be an interesting challenge - off to San Francisco on Tuesday night, then Los Angeles the next day and back home very late Thursday.

But tomorrow is Sleep No More #5, so I know I'll be reinvigorated after that. It's my first time going to the show with no particular plan. I think I need to spend some time with Hecate, or some of the remaining Rebecca characters. And if I need a real boost tomorrow I think some Malcolm time is what the doctor ordered.

Day 159: Marble Mirror

Awesome reflection on the walk over to Fairway, 133rd St.

Day 158: Symphony of Light

Not quite what I was hoping for, but fun nonetheless.

Title is because some things feel like final episodes right now.

Day 156: Happy Birthday!

Sums up the lovely birthday party for John O'Malley (pictured with his piƱata remains).

Day 155: Irish Hunger

The Irish Hunger Memorial, way way down in the Financial District, is pretty incredible. The elevated part of it is the Shire.

Day 154: A Dark Place

When I'm especially seething I tend to go take nice pretty calm pictures. Such as this one.
