Day 253: Between Layers

Rose very early today to head to the airport and catch my flight home, and was treated to some really brilliant sights as the plane rose through some thick clouds around LA.

Day 252: Faces

I took a couple hundred photos of the picket line at the Andaz, and of course the shots I enjoy the most are of the strikers.

Strikes, in my experience, are incredibly emotional experiences. They're difficult and scary but also exhilarating and cathartic, so people go through a wide range of expression over the course of the fight.

Day 251: On Strike!

Six Hyatt hotels in four cities went on strike, including the Hyatt Andaz in West Hollywood where I was helping Local 11. It's a really inspiring group of workers out there up against a very tough, very heartless company.

Also, while I discovered a number of things I like about LA, I think WeHo might be the gayborhood I like even less than the Castro, if that's humanly possible.

Day 250: Vast Continent

Flew out to Los Angeles and had a lot of lovely views of America from my window seat. I need to get out west and explore.

Day 249: Drenched

Leftovers of Tropical Storm Lee following on the Irene saturation made for some seriously crummy days.

Day 245: Office Life

I've been super-focused on work this week. Tons to do, a lot of fun, demanding projects passing through my hands. Spending a lot of time at the office.

I really, really love what I do.

Day 244: Cricket to Picket

Work photo - was out at Manhattan College (in the Bronx, curiously enough) for an action, got some lovely press coverage which made me very happy.

This is Day 244 and therefore the official 2/3rds mark for the project! Insane how fast this year is going by.
